SARS-CoV-2 nsp3 and nsp4 are minimal constituents of a pore spanning replication organelle
Coronavirus replication is associated with the remodeling of cellular membranes, resulting in the formation of double-membrane vesicles (DMVs). A DMV-spanning pore was identified as a putative portal for viral RNA.

Analyzing plant stress granules in response to plant viruses [PDF]
Plant viruses have the ability to redirect host machineries and processes to establish a productive infection. Virus-host interactions lead to the reprogramming of the plant cell cycle and transcriptional controls, inhibition of cell death pathways ...

Identification of TPRA1 as a Novel Receptor and Predictive Biomarker for Oncolytic Virus M1
This study identifies transmembrane protein adipocyte‐associated 1 (TPRA1) as a novel receptor for oncolytic virus M1 (OVM). TPRA1's ectodomain binds OVM particles, while its intracellular domain facilitates virus internalization, promoting efficient viral entry.

ABSTRACT HCoV‐OC43 genomes and their evolution are scarcely studied worldwide and in France, with only 361 genomes available as of October 2023. Here, an in‐house PCR amplification system was implemented to obtain retrospectively by next‐generation sequencing, then analyze HCoV‐OC43 genomes for infections diagnosed with this virus in southern France ...

ABSTRACT RNA hairpins may constitute a foundation of genetic evolution both in viruses and other organisms. Stem‐loops theoretically comprise a stable part, the double‐stranded stem, and a single‐stranded loop allowing evolution. Here we tested for SARS‐CoV‐2 if “fertile” mutations were in loops while mutations in stems were poorly tolerated and rarely

Chikungunya virus: an update on the biology and pathogenesis of this emerging pathogen [PDF]
Re-emergence of chikungunya virus, a mosquito-transmitted pathogen, is of serious public health concern. In the past 15 years, after decades of infrequent, sporadic outbreaks, the virus has caused major epidemic outbreaks in Africa, Asia, the Indian ...
