A recombinant whole‐cell platform expressing a bacterial 15S‐LOX exhibiting 5S‐LOX activity enabled the stereoselective production of RvE2 and 17R‐RvD5 from 18R‐HEPE and 17R‐HDHA, achieving final concentrations of 0.57 mM and 1.48 mM from 4.0 mM substrates, respectively, under optimized conditions.

Specialized Pro-Resolving Lipid Mediators: New Therapeutic Approaches for Vascular Remodeling [PDF]
Vascular remodeling is a typical feature of vascular diseases, such as atherosclerosis, aneurysms or restenosis. Excessive inflammation is a key mechanism underlying vascular remodeling via the modulation of vascular fibrosis, phenotype and function ...

Abstract Objective Depression is common in mesial temporal lobe epilepsy (mTLE), but its neuroanatomical basis—and overlap with major depressive disorder (MDD)—remains poorly defined. We investigated whether the cortical and subcortical alterations reported in MDD are also present in mTLE and leveraged the frequent occurrence of depression after ...

Specialized pro‐resolving mediators: biosynthesis and biological role in bacterial infections [PDF]
Acute inflammation caused by bacterial infections is an essential biological defence mechanism of the host in order to neutralize and clear the invaders and to return to homeostasis. Despite its protective function, inflammation may become persistent and

Identifiable regional and neural network abnormalities in early childhood anxiety
Abstract Background Although the neural underpinnings of anxiety have been investigated, most research has been confined to adolescence and adulthood, with less of a focus on the early childhood period. Little is known about the role of anticipatory fear processing early childhood, which is a sensitive period for anxiety development.

Environmental Stressors Influence Spatial Complexity in a Fluvial Macrophyte meadow
This research investigates the nonlinear relationships between environmental stressors and the fine‐scale spatial complexity of a fluvial macrophytes meadow. The use of multivariate spatial analysis allowed us to identify two major environmental gradients (nutrients and light) and two major complexity gradients (related to abundance and fragmentation).

Potential Clinical Applications of Pro-Resolving Lipids Mediators from Docosahexaenoic Acid
Docosahexaenoic acid (C22:6n-3, DHA) is the precursor of specialized pro-resolving lipid mediators (SPMs), such as resolvin, protectin, and maresin families which have been considered therapeutic bioactive compounds for human health.
