Discovery of H2 Receptor Antagonists as Colistin Enhancers by Targeting Acid Stress Response

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
This study identifies YqgB as a key target for restoring colistin susceptibility in mcr‐positive pathogens under acidic conditions by remodeling phospholipid composition and reducing LPS modification. Deep learning‐based screening reveals H2 receptor antagonists as novel colistin adjuvants. Further investigations indicate that ranitidine and famotidine

Spermidine-induced improvements in water relations and antioxidant defense enhance drought tolerance in yarrow (Achillea millefolium L.)

open access: yesHeliyon
Drought stress poses a serious threat to agricultural productivity worldwide. This study investigated the mitigative effects of exogenous spermidine on drought stressed yarrow (Achillea millefolium L.). Plants were subjected to three drought levels (25 %,

Non-monotonic swelling of a macroion due to correlation-induced charge inversion [PDF]

open access: yes, 2008
It is known that a large, charged body immersed in a solution of multivalent counterions may undergo charge inversion as the counterions adsorb to its surface.

Genome‐Wide Association Study Reveals Insect Genetics and Microbial Symbiont Effects on Susceptibility of Diaphorina citri to the Citrus Greening Pathogen, Candidatus Liberibacter Asiaticus

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
This study investigates the genetic and microbial factors influencing the susceptibility of Diaphorina citri to the citrus greening pathogen Candidatus Liberibacter asiaticus (CLas), employing a microbiome Genome Wide Association Study. The research identifies a key gene encoding an MFS‐type transporter contributing to CLas infectivity and abundance in

Spermidine and spermine exert protective effects within the lung

open access: yesPharmacology Research & Perspectives, 2021
Asthma is a heterologous disease that is influenced by complex interactions between multiple environmental exposures, metabolism, and host immunoregulatory processes. Specific metabolites are increasingly recognized to influence respiratory inflammation.

4‐Hydroxybenzyl Alcohol Mitigates Hyperlipidemia‐Associated Depression by Inhibiting Neuroinflammation via the NKIRAS2/NF‐κB Pathway

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
4‐HBA upregulates NKIRAS2 levels, inhibiting the activation of the NF‐κB pathway and subsequently reducing the levels of neuroinflammatory markers. This modulation helps restore normal mood and behavior in hyperlipidemic conditions, providing a potential therapeutic strategy for managing hyperlipidemia‐associated depression.
