The transcription and export complex THO/TREX contributes to transcription termination in plants.
Transcription termination has important regulatory functions, impacting mRNA stability, localization and translation potential. Failure to appropriately terminate transcription can also lead to read-through transcription and the synthesis of antisense ...

Transcription termination and anti‐termination in E. coli [PDF]
Transcription termination in Escherichia coli is controlled by many factors. The sequence of the DNA template, the structure of the transcript, and the actions of auxiliary proteins all play a role in determining the efficiency of the process. Termination is regulated and can be enhanced or suppressed by host and phage proteins.

Mechanism of Action of Bacterial Transcription Terminator Rho
The bacterial transcription terminator, Rho, is a well conserved protein among the prokaryotes. It was discovered about 50 years back and still, a significant number of the researchers across the globe are actively engaged in understanding the function ...

Transcription Factors and Termination of Transcription in Methanococcus [PDF]
Summary We have recently shown that specific transcription in cell extracts of Methanococcus thermolithotrophicus depends upon a transcription factor that was separated from the RNA polymerase by phosphocellulose chromatography. Here, we provide evidence for a second transcription factor.

Application of artificial neural networks for prokaryotic transcription terminator prediction [PDF]
Artificial neural networks (ANN) to predict terminator sequences, based on a feed-forward architecture and trained using the error back propagation technique, have been developed. The network uses two different methods for coding nucleotide sequences. In

A conserved inverted repeat from rice plastome functions as an intrinsic transcription terminator
Results from a previous rice transcription mapping and the GeSTer algorithm analysis used in this investigation for rice plastid genome suggest that an inverted repeat, 11108, in 3' region of the plastid rps18 gene may serve as a transcription terminator.

Tau acetylation at K331 has limited impact on tau pathology in vivo
We mapped tau post‐translational modifications in humanized MAPT knock‐in mice and in amyloid‐bearing double knock‐in mice. Acetylation within the repeat domain, particularly around K331, showed modest increases under amyloid pathology. To test functional relevance, we generated MAPTK331Q knock‐in mice.

An isoform of 14‐3‐3 protein regulates transbilayer lipid movement at the plasma membrane
Loss of 14‐3‐3ζ in CHO cells confers resistance to exogenous phosphatidylserine (PS) and impairs endocytosis‐independent inward flip‐flop of fluorescent PS at the plasma membrane. RNAi‐mediated knockdown reproduces this defect, while no additive effect is seen in ATP11C‐deficient cells.
