Biomimetic Nanoplatform for Targeted Glioblastoma Therapy via Concurrently Triggering GPX4/DHODH Mediated Ferroptosis

Considering the great challenge in Glioblastoma multiforme (GBM) treatment, the authors designed and synthesized a multifunctional nanoplatform that effectively induced ferroptosis by synergetically inhibiting intrinsic intrisinc anti‐ferroptosis proteins, GPX4 & DHODH, and realized excellent in vitro and in vivo anti‐GBM effect.

GHRHR Deficiency Enhances Retinal Ganglion Cell Survival and Visual Functions in Experimental Glaucoma by Inhibiting Ferroptosis

Glaucoma, a major cause of blindness, involves retinal ganglion cell (RGC) degeneration. This study shows growth hormone‐releasing hormone receptor (GHRHR) deficiency preserves RGC survival and restores vision, unlike activation which only aids survival.

Ubiquinol-cytochrome c reductase (Complex III), cytochrome c and cytochrome c oxidase can be combined to reconstitute antimycin-sensitive ubiquinol oxidase activity. In 25 mM-acetate/Tris, pH 7.8, cytochrome c binds at high-affinity sites (KD = 0.1 microM) and low-affinity sites (KD approx. 10 microM). Quinol oxidase activity is 50% of maximal activity

The cytochrome bo3-ubiquinol oxidase, one of two ubiquinol oxidases in Escherichia coli, is a member of the heme-copper oxidase superfamily. The enzyme contains four protein subunits (I-IV) with apparent molecular masses of 58, 33, 22, and 17 kDa, respectively.
