Kutane Dendritische Zell-Subpopulationen in Pathogenese und Therapie dermatologischer Erkrankungen [PDF]

open access: yes, 2018

A Highly Active Form of XCL1/Lymphotactin Functions as an Effective Adjuvant to Recruit Cross-Presenting Dendritic Cells for Induction of Effector and Memory CD8+ T Cells

open access: yesFrontiers in Immunology, 2018
The chemokine receptor XCR1 is known to be selectively expressed by cross-presenting dendritic cells (DCs), while its ligand XCL1/lymphotactin is mainly produced by activated CD8+ T cells and natural killer cells.

Genetic variants associated with SARS-CoV-2 infection also affect lung function and asthma severity

open access: yesHeliyon, 2023
Background: Host genetic factors may be associated with COVID-19 unfavourable outcomes. The first genome-wide association study (GWAS) conducted in individuals with respiratory failure due to COVID-19 revealed susceptibility loci close to six genes ...

Generalized Lévy walks and the role of chemokines in migration of effector CD8+ T cells. [PDF]

open access: yes, 2012
Chemokines have a central role in regulating processes essential to the immune function of T cells, such as their migration within lymphoid tissues and targeting of pathogens in sites of inflammation.

rWTC‐MBTA Vaccine, Alone and Enhanced with Anti‐PD1, Elicits Immune Responses against CNS and Peripheral B‐Cell Lymphoma

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
An autologous whole‐tumor‐cell vaccine (rWTC‐MBTA) is evaluated in murine CNS lymphoma. Subcutaneous vaccination activates dendritic cells, broadens T‐cell priming, and drives lymphocyte trafficking to brain tumors, producing durable tumor control. Longitudinal bioluminescence and adoptive‐transfer assays verify CNS engagement. Combination with anti‐PD‐

Improved Systemic Immunochemotherapy Employing an Oxaliplatin‐TLR7/8 Agonist Prodrug Strategy

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
A platinum(IV) prodrug is developed to systemically deliver the TLR7/8 agonist gardiquimod. Tumor‐targeting is mediated by an albumin‐binding maleimide, which limits premature complex activation. Ox‐Gardi‐Mal accumulates specifically in the tumor, where it activates the immune system.

Tolerogenic XCR1+ dendritic cell population is dysregulated in HLA-B27 transgenic rat model of spondyloarthritis

open access: yesArthritis Research & Therapy, 2019
Background Spondyloarthritis (SpA) is a chronic inflammatory disease affecting primarily axial and peripheral joints and sometimes also extra-articular organs, such as the gut.

Tumor‐Induced Splenic Remodeling: Mechanisms of Systemic Immunosuppression and Emerging Therapeutic Opportunities

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Despite the transformative impact of cancer immunotherapies such as immune checkpoint blockade, durable clinical responses remain limited. Increasing evidence indicates that antitumor immunity is governed not only by the tumor microenvironment, but also by systemic immune regulation mediated by peripheral immune organs. Among these, the spleen

Combination of Synthetic Long Peptides and XCL1 Fusion Proteins Results in Superior Tumor Control

open access: yesFrontiers in Immunology, 2019
Cross-presenting Xcr1+CD8α DCs are attractive APCs to target for therapeutic cancer vaccines, as they are able to take up and process antigen from dying tumor cells for their MHCI-restricted presentation to CD8 T cells.

Structural and functional divergence of growth hormone-releasing hormone receptors in early sarcopterygians: lungfish and Xenopus [PDF]

open access: yes, 2013
The evolutionary trajectories of growth hormone-releasing hormone (GHRH) receptor remain enigmatic since the discovery of physiologically functional GHRH-GHRH receptor (GHRHR) in non-mammalian vertebrates in 2007.
