m5C modification of LINC00324 promotes angiogenesis in glioma through CBX3/VEGFR2 pathway

International Journal of Biological Macromolecules
Angiogenesis plays a major role in tumor initiation, progression, and metastasis. This is why finding antiangiogenic targets is essential in the treatment of gliomas. In this study, NSUN2 and LINC00324 were significantly upregulated in conditionally cultured glioblastoma endothelial cells (GECs).

Simultaneous profiling of ac4C and m5C modifications from nanopore direct RNA sequencing

International Journal of Biological Macromolecules
N4-acetylcytidine (ac4C) and 5-methylcytidine (m5C) play important roles in mRNA stability, translation efficiency, and cellular stress responses. Current methods for detecting RNA modifications from nanopore sequencing data do not support simultaneous de novo identification of both modifications.

Methylated RNA Immunoprecipitation Assay to Study m5C Modification in Arabidopsis.

Journal of visualized experiments : JoVE, 2020
Secondary base modifications on RNA, such as m5C, affect the structure and function of the modified RNA molecules. Methylated RNA Immunoprecipitation and sequencing (MeRIP-seq) is a method that aims to enrich for methylated RNA and ultimately identify modified transcripts.

CNSC-28. THE IMPORTANCE OF M5C RNA MODIFICATIONS IN EPITRANSCRIPTOMICS FOR GLIOBLASTOMA

Neuro-Oncology
Abstract Glioblastoma is the most aggressive brain tumor in adults. Despite surgical resection, chemo- and radiotherapies, patients have a median overall survival of less than 2 years. Recently DNA analysis has been developed and defined the characteristics of glioma. Accordingly, the m5C modification on DNA are well reported.

Changes of RNA m6A/m5C Modification Regulatory Molecules in Ferroptosis of T2DM Rat Pancreas

Cell Biochemistry and Biophysics
N6-methyladenine (m6A) and 5-methylcytosine (m5C) are two common forms of RNA methylation that play an important role in the epigenetics of type 2 diabetes mellitus (T2DM). One type of cell death, ferroptosis, has been implicated in islet β-cell damage in T2DM.

NSUN2-mediated m5C modification of circFAM190B promotes lung cancer progression by inhibiting cellular autophagy

International Journal of Biological Macromolecules
5-Methylcytosine (m5C) modification is an important type of RNA methylation. Diverse noncoding RNAs can undergo m5C modification and play important roles in tumour development, but circRNA m5C modifications have not been fully revealed in tumours. Here, circFAM190B, which was significantly overexpressed in lung cancer cells and tissues, was identified ...

NSUN4-mediated m5C modification of circERI3 promotes lung cancer development by altering mitochondrial energy metabolism

Cancer Letters
As a highly important methylation modification, the 5-methyladenosine (m5C) modification can profoundly affect RNAs by regulating their transcription, structure and stability. With the continuous development of high-throughput technology, differentially expressed circular RNAs (circRNAs) have been increasingly discovered, and circRNAs play unique roles

NSUN2 Promotes Prostate Cancer Cell Proliferation and Migration Through m5C Modifications of YES1

Molecular Carcinogenesis
ABSTRACT Prostate cancer (PCa) is one of the most common genitourinary malignancies in men worldwide. As a 5‐methylcytosine (m5C) methyltransferase, NSUN2 has been implicated in regulating PCa progression. This study aimed to investigate the role of NSUN2 in PCa and elucidate its underlying mechanisms.
