Endocannabinoids and Immunity [PDF]
Over the last 10 years, a great boost of knowledge accumulated on the immunomodulatory and anti-inflammatory properties of endocannabinoids (eCBs). In this scenario, these bioactive lipids, which are produced by most immune cells along with a set of receptors and enzymes that regulate their synthesis and degradation, act as secondary modulators and ...

Abstract Aims To describe differences in the expression of genes encoding cannabinoid receptors (CNR1, CNR2), the associated receptor GRP55 and the enzymes fatty acid amide hydrolase (FAAH) and monoacylglycerol lipase (MGLL) between individuals with alcohol use disorder (AUD) and controls in key mesocorticolimbic brain regions.

Rapid improvement of renal microcirculatory homeostasis by liraglutide following diabetes induction
Abstract Aims Renal microvascular dysfunction is a central driver of diabetic kidney disease, yet the potential for rapid therapeutic reversal remains obscure. We investigated the effect of short‐term liraglutide on early changes in the renal microcirculation post‐induction of diabetes.

Review: “The Disappointment Dilemma: Short‐ and Long‐Term Learning From Negative Outcomes”
The habenula routes negative‐outcome signals to VTA, RMTg, and IPN to shape aversive learning and motivation. The lateral habenula encodes acute negative prediction errors to rapidly adapt behavior to threat, fear, and avoidance. The medial habenula integrates repeated stress, drug, and aversive experiences into long‐term negative mood and expectations.

Abstract Objective To highlight key factors required to optimize multi‐mechanistic approaches with oral combination treatments for the acute management of a migraine attack. Background Given the complex multi‐factorial nature of migraine, combining treatments with different mechanisms of action should improve outcomes compared to monotherapies, but ...
